Time change and Shamrocks
Hello Peculiar Families!
This week we had to "spring ahead" and set our clocks forward one hour. I don't know about you, but it's hard to lose that hour of sleep.....
This month we did have some changes to our school district calendar, with the addition of a virtual Friday, and the swap of virtual Fridays in April. I have included the new calendar below for your reference. Please be sure to mark your calendars so that you know which days we will be virtual, and which days we will be here at school.
We had so much fun for Read Across America week! The staff and students showed up with some pretty amazing outfits and clothing to show their school spirit. Thank you for participating! We also spent a lot of time reading some awesome books!
I am looking forward to seeing our students and staff show their spirit this week by wearing green. On Wednesday, I encourage our students to put on their greenest clothes, and come on in!
We have about two weeks until Spring Break, and we are also starting another virtual book fair. Click on the link below to check out the spring books. Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be taking the state MAP assessment next month, and we will be sending out information soon to help prepare your child for those days.
Let's have a fantastic month of March as we head into these last several weeks.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.

Principal

Book Fair!
Dear Parents and Families:
The Scholastic Book Fair is back! While the Fair will be held online this spring, we still plan on making it a fun and joyous experience for our kids. Our Virtual Fair features:
A fully Virtual Fair so you and your kids can experience the joy of the Book Fair experience! Browse nearly 300 titles by grade, meet popular authors, watch book videos, and discover the magic of reading
Direct access to over 6,000 additional titles with family-friendly prices at the Scholastic Store Online
Every dollar you spend will benefit our school directly (25% back in rewards for every purchase!)
Book orders $25 and over ship to your home for free!
e-Wallet available for families to set up for students where relatives may add money to student's virtual wallet where they can shop with the help of an adult online. It's like sending a virtual gift card for the book fair for your student to use. The remaining funds will not be refunded or lost; they will stay in the student's e-Wallet for future book fair purchases (even if the student moves onto middle school, they will be able to use the funds at the book fair at their new school).
Save these dates and view our school’s Fair site:
Fair Dates: 3/15/2021 – 3/28/2021

We can’t wait to “see” you at the Fair!

PTA INFORMATION
We invite all families to join the Peculiar PTA as members of our school community. Joining the PTA does not obligate you any job, but gives you the opportunity to contribute and vote on decisions for our school family. PTA membership is $10 per family.
Please click the link below to complete the membership form: PTA Membership Form
Our PTA also compiles a school directory to be distributed to only families in our building. Peculiar Elementary can not distribute personal communication between families, so the PTA provides contact information for the families. Each family may provide as much or little contact information as they choose.
Please complete the directory form to show what, if any information may be shared. PTA Directory Information
