He was born into an important Swedish banking family on August 4, 1912, in Stockholm, Sweden. He studied architecture in the United States before going back to Sweden and joining the family business. Then in 1944 he was recruited by the US War Refugee Board to go to Hungary as a diplomat to assist and save Jews there.

Conclusion
We needed to remember the Holocaust and the heroes who worked so hard to make sure it stopped and wouldn't happen later on. Without heroes like these the earth today would be a terrible place to live.
