PE Student of the Month

We are very happy to announce that Charlotte Doran is our February PE Student of the Month!!! Charlotte is a 5th grader in Ms. Swain's class, and she has shown tremendous improvement this year!!! Charlotte works very hard every day and displays great courage. Her attitude and determination set an amazing example for all of us to follow. We are so proud of you Charlotte, way to go!!!

Important Information

We want to make sure all students get their full learning experiences each and every day. Reminder that the school day begins at 7:55, and tardies begin at 8:00.

Attendance is extremely important to success in school! Please see more information here and here about why attendance matters and what you can do to help.

A few safety reminders:

-Student drop-offs are not allowed in the staff parking lot/bus and daycare lane in the mornings.

-School doors open at 7:30, prior to this time there is no supervision for students.

-Cell phone use while driving is not allowed on school property per Texas Transportation Code (unless you are using a handsfree device).


It is important that all student absences be reported to the school in a timely manner. Please use ONE of the following methods to report the absence.

- Call the attendance line at 281-641-5019 or

- Complete the online absence form that can be found here.

If your student has visited a doctor while they were absent then please make sure to send in a signed/stamped doctors note within 48 hours of their return to school.

Attendance is taken at 9:55am

Students must be in class at that time to be marked present.

Early Checkout

Early Check Out from the front office will end promptly at 2:30pm to prepare for dismissal.

Spring Book Fair

Any students who have remaining eWallet balances will come to the library to shop. You can also shop our online Book Fair until March 9th & eWallet work there too!

The Book Fair is cashless. Only eWallet or credit/debit cards are accepted - no cash or checks. You can visit the Groves Library webpage at for all the information you will need.

Book Fair Family Night

Recorder Sales for Music (4th Grade Only!)

As part of this year’s 4th Grade music curriculum, your child will be learning to play the soprano recorder.

This instrument gives the students the opportunity to apply concepts and skills they have studied in class.

Food Delivery for Students

Just a reminder that students are not allowed food deliveries by outside vendors (Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc.) or directly from a restaurant. We welcome parents to drop off lunch in the front atrium. Thank you!

Lunch Schedule

See below for a link to the lunch schedule. This staggered lunch schedule will allow students to have more time to eat their meals without rushing.

Birthday Treats

Please contact your child's teacher to set up dropping off of birthday treats. They can be dropped off at the front office. Please make sure it is a store bought item confirmed with your teacher in case of allergies. Individually wrapped is recommended. No goodie bags, gifts or balloons will be accepted. Ice cream can be purchased from the cafeteria. This must be done in advance and the form can be found on our website.

Credit by Exam

Below please find information regarding the Fall 2022 Credit By Exam for Acceleration registration and testing dates/deadlines. Additional communication will be sent out in January for spring testing registration.

Parents complete Credit By Examination Registration Form and give it to your student's Counselor before the desired testing window deadline.

2022-2023 Yearbook

2022-2023 Yearbook - We are so excited to announce that the 2022-2023 Yearbook will be in collaboration with our first ever Groves Elementary Yearbook Club. Students will help design, take pictures, and create layouts. You may order your yearbooks now at (search Groves Elementary in 77346). We will have a summer delivery to be able to include all parties, spring events and 5th grade of year activities, but we will be selling inserts at the end of year for students to collect autographs, so you don't need to purchase an insert now. 5th grade only dedications available for purchase now, but the design isn't due until next Spring. Order now because we have a limited number of books that will sell out!!

Grizzly Game Day

You have until the end of tonight to volunteer to help with Grizzly Game Day! Please help us make Grizzly game Day a success for our students. Follow this link to sign up volunteers. You will need to be an approved volunteer for Humble ISD to volunteer at Grizzly Game Day. Please remember to bring your water bottle if you are volunteering and all students should bring on on Game Day as well.

2023 Spring Gala

Tickets to our second annual Spring Gala will go on sale this Sunday, March 5th at 8 pm! The event will be on Saturday, April 15th from 7 to 10 pm at the Hearth, right across the street from GE! Your tickets will include an evening of dancing, heavy hor d'oeuvres and food stations, charcuterie and dessert tables, and 2 drink tickets. The Gala will include a photo booth, class basket auctions, and raffles throughout the evening. All tickets will include event swag with promotional items. We can't wait to celebrate our school with you!
