ZBTHS Parent Bulletin
From the ZBTHS Principal's Office Vol. 2, Issue 15
Principal's Message 3/8/22
Today we begin the 4th quarter. This school year will be over before we know it. This is the time the partnership between the school and parents becomes critical to ensure every student finishes the year achieving to their fullest potential. I want to emphasize the importance of good student behaviors and habits necessary to finish the school year on a positive note. Continued success over the next 10 weeks starts with regular daily attendance. Students will benefit from staying organized, keeping up with course work, and preparing for every test or quiz. Please remember, students and parents should never hesitate to ask for assistance from teachers or other staff. We are here to support every student as they prepare for their college and/or career aspirations.
March is Women’s History Month. We are celebrating and recognizing the contributions of women by sharing information and videos throughout each week.
Parents and guardians, we need you to complete the 5Essentials Parent Survey. At least 20% of Zion-Benton families must complete the survey to receive the results. Currently, only 11% have completed the survey and it closes this Friday, 3/11/22. Use this link and follow the prompts to complete this 15 minute survey.
I'd like to end by thanking our families for your continued support and understanding throughout this school year. Bringing students back to in-person learning and now transitioning to a mask recommended policy have been very new experiences for us. The grace and patience afforded to Zion-Benton High School during these times is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chris Pawelczyk

GIRLS' WRESTLING MAKES ZBTHS HISTORY
What an exciting weekend for Zee-Bees Girls Wrestling!
Two state qualifiers and two medals! Rachel Williams-Henry had put up a hard fight in the 3rd place match but fell just short and ended with a 4th place medal. ILeen Castrejon also battled to the end in her championship match but came up just short and finished second.
What these two accomplished this weekend was amazing and so fun to watch! Zee-Bee Girls Wrestling is now on the map!
Congrats to the coaches as well and great job with this inaugural girls season! We will be recognizing these girls at the March Board of Education meeting for their accomplishments! Hope to see you there!
THEATRE IN OUR SCHOOLS WEEK
Did you know that students who took four years of arts classes in high school scored an average of 92 points higher on their SATs than students who only took one half year or less? (The College Board, 2016)
Theatre skills help students develop vital 21st-century skills like communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, as well as social/emotional skills critical to students’ growth as young adults. Watch the video below and hear why these ZB Encore Players love theatre!
