A Message from Mrs. Haymark
Dear Vogel Texans,
We were all completely heartbroken on Friday when Governor Abbott issued the Executive Order to keep schools closed for the remainder of the year. Sadly, our academic year will be completed remotely. As more information is released from the state and our district, I will keep you informed. I know that this closure presents challenges for everyone. Please let us know we can help you and your child get through this difficult time.
Teachers have been working hard each week to provide our students with engaging activities they can complete while at home. The remote learning site is live. As teachers update lessons for the next week, you will be able to view them. As the weeks move on, we all realize that circumstances may change. Please don't stress out about your child completing all of the activities. Do as much as you can. If you or your child have specific questions or concerns about assignments, please reach out to your child's teacher or myself.

A Letter from the Irons' Counselors
Dear Parent/Guardian:
We are currently in the stages of beginning to work on our master schedule for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to the nature of our current situation, we will not be sending home a paper copy of your child’s course requests. All student course requests were rolled over into our scheduling program prior to spring break. The current classes that you can view in Parent Access/Student Access were reviewed individually with all students prior to spring break with a Irons staff member. This includes all incoming 7th and 8th graders. If you have requested a change since that time, your student’s assigned counselor has made the change in our scheduling program. Our email correspondence is your verification the change was made. This will continue to be our process.
The deadline for course changes is May 4, 2020. The deadline to apply online for Off-Campus P. E. is May 1, 2020. If you need to make any course request changes, please email the assigned grade level 2020-21 counselor listed below.
A special note to those students who may receive special services through an IEP: Some special courses may not currently be shown in the Parent Access/Student Access Center. We have received that information from our feeder campuses and made those changes as indicated in our scheduling program. You will not be able to see those in PAC/SAC. 2020-21

Resiliency for our Students & Families
As we prepare to go into our end of the year, we wanted to offer some encouragement to help get us all through this. We know that this is not norm and can be uncomfortable for some. In order to get through what may feel like a state of ROCK BOTTOM, we have to tap into the greatness that resides within each of us. We may not be able to control the factors that are seeming to change so fast for us, but we can control how we respond. Continue to find value in each day and each moment. Your Vogel family is still here working hard for the heartbeats of Vogel which are our students and their families. Please continue to stay connected with us and let us know how we can help you get through this. We may not have all the answers but we can point you in the right direction.
Please continue to use our resource links below. Here is a link to this weeks lesson encouraging you to bounce back in times of defeat.

Message from our librarian - Ms. Ashley Colvin
Hi Vogel Texans!
A lot of you have questions about overdue library books. Right now, don't worry about returning them- keep them in a safe place and return them once school starts. :)
Keep reading! Can't wait to get back to school and hear all about what you have read.
Ms. Colvin
