Rochester Children's Book Festival!
The Annual Rochester Children's Book Festival has been held for 20 years and it is made a success by 100+ volunteers.
Join the festival as a volunteer on Saturday, 4th of November, 10 AM to 4 PM.
A variety of positions need to be filled, including: assisting the authors, helping in the presentation rooms, working in the checkout area, and lending a hand in the arts and crafts room!

MENTOR A YOUTH ADULT OR A FAMILY
Compeer = companion + peer
Compeer Rochester is a community-based agency serving mental health clinics in the community. You can COMPEER an individual or group facing a mental health challenge by joining one of the following programs at Compeer Rochester:
- Youth Program (for children 9-19 years of age)
- Adult program
- Compeer Corp (for veterans)
- Family Mentoring Program
- Compeer Calling/E-buddies

Cracker Box Palace: Farm Animal Haven
Show that you care about animals!
Volunteer at Cracker Box Palace animal shelter where sick or abused animal come to recover, Saturday, November 4th, 8 AM to 1PM, at Cracker Box Palace, Shaker Road, Alton, NY, United States
Volunteers will take a tour of the farm sanctuary and help where needed by feeding animals and cleaning cages.
Nazareth will provide rides to this volunteer event!

8th Annual Performing for Social Justice Poetry and Music Competition
Submit your piece by November 10, 2017. This year's theme is WOR(L)D EQUALITY.
To participate, you can:
- interpret an existing musical piece, song or poem, OR
- write an original musical piece, song or poem OR
- submit a Poésie-vidéo project, in the language of you choice.
The contest will take place on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at 5:00pm in the Linehan Chapel at GAC and each participant will be invited to perform on that evening.

NOWHERE TO GO
Presented by the Center for Civic Engagement and Service Floor
Thursday, November 15th, 8-9 PM, Forum at Shults Center
The film viewing will be followed by a Q&A session with the representatives of Spiritus Christi Outreach Center.
No Where To Go, produced by Voices of Hope Productions, is a documentary about the difficulties faced by formerly incarcerated people as they renter the social life.
Join us in watching the movie and discussing a pertinent issue in our society.

CLOTHING DRIVE
DONATE them for a cause because you can:
- help people who don't have clothes
- help disaster victims who have lost everything
- helps the environment; and
- keeps your closet organized
We collect clothing donations all year round and this year's drive is on until May 1, 2018
Drop them off in boxes outside Julie Lloyd's office GAC 166 or George Hall first floor next to the elevator.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
The Accelerated Reader (AR) Program is a computer and web-based reading enrichment program developed by Renaissance Learning, Inc. designed to improve reading skills and encourage the love of reading through daily reading practice
The Boys & Girls Club is looking for volunteers to work one on one with students to work on their reading comprehension.
The program is held Monday-Thursday 3pm-7pm
