Badger Bulletin
Volume 2, Issue 11
Badger Family,
We will spend the upcoming week together with students who are experiencing a variety of emotions about the upcoming Thanksgiving break. Some of our students have wonderful trips planned, some will have a great meal with their family where they discuss what they are thankful for, some are not looking forward to being home for a week, and some will be thankful for the food that we have all donated so that they can have groceries. What a great time to stop and express gratitude toward a student as well as a colleague who has made a difference for you this school year. We may see changes in behavior due to our upcoming break so please continue to be consistently in the hallway or at your door each passing period. I hope you have a great week here at school and then an amazing week off with your family and friends!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Builder's Club
EWMS Builder's Club kicked off their 2015-2016 community service by volunteering at the Kiwanis of Saginaw Veterans Day Memorial Service. The students greeted veterans, active military, and guests as they handed out buttons, programs, and flags. After the ceremony, they helped serve each guest a BBQ sandwich dinner with all the fixings. We concluded our night with cleaning up. The Builder's Club students were joined by EMSISD Key Clubs from SHS and BHS. Prior to the ceremony, students wrapped boxes of donations for Community Link and the holiday help. It was a day filled with helping others. As one student put it, "This was fun to help those who have given so we can be students today."

- Our instructional rounds that were scheduled on 11/17 will not happen on 11/17 but will instead take place on Tuesday, 12/8. They will take place during your conference period and are voluntary. I look forward to continue learning through this process with you. Please mark your calendar!
- Thanks again for those who took time to complete the advisory survey. Due to the feedback that we received, we are making some changes. Your voices have been heard. The new Advisory guidelines are attached to this Badger Bulletin email. Please read all 3 pages. A work on work (WOW) pass for advisory has also been included on the email and it prints 4 to a page. It is imperative that all guidelines are followed. If you have any questions, please email me.
- Please do not forget to sign up to contribute to our upcoming Thanksgiving Luncheon. We are looking forward to eating and giving thanks with you!
- Please watch the video below when you do not have young children or students in your presence. I hope the video inspires you and makes you laugh. You truly are all miracle workers even if you aren't able to see the miracle!
- I have enjoyed praising and celebrating students for a variety of reasons. Please continue to send me names and reasons to celebrate kids. This is helping me get to know our students.
- I am thrilled to see the number of positive post cards that have been written and addressed to be mailed to our students and/or parents. There were many teachers that wrote far more than 10. You may never know the impact you made by writing a postcard but I can tell you that your words are powerful and make a difference.
- Reminder - the parent conference form is due to your PDAS administrator on 11/20. I enjoyed seeing all of the parents that you all invited to our campus to conference with you. I hope you gained valuable information and insight during the parent conferences.
- If you choose to participate in our designated spirit days for our upcoming basketball season, you may wear jeans those days.
- I am so excited about our UIL coaches! We are going to do amazing with UIL. Please make sure you recruit enough competitors to have full teams as well as an alternate should one of your students not be able to compete on the Friday or Saturday. Thank you, Meredith Walling, for coordinating UIL. Please make sure you send Meredith Walling your practice days and times so that she may add it to the information that will be sent home.
