The 5th Wave

By: Rick Yancey

About the Book

Main characters: Cassie Sullivan and Ben Parish (Zombie)

Setting: Ohio

It was just a regular day for Cassie and the rest of the people in the world until the power went out. And I don't mean just a regular power outage that comes back on in a few seconds I mean full on planes were falling cars were crashing everything was out no more technology. And that was just the first wave. This story is about this unknown life that has implanted itself in unknown humans long before the awakening (which is when they awake in their human forms to start the waves because they need earth to live and they don't believe in co-existence) they are called the others. They use the human bodies to fight against the humans from the inside and gaining their trust. Most of the people have died and only the strong ones survive. The first four waves happen in a couple of months and by the time all four are done Cassie is all alone. She is left to face the world by herself against the others.

I give this book 5/5 stars. The 5th wave has a ton of action. The author has written it in first person from 2 different people to make sure you get the whole scene. I would recommend it to anybody that likes a long action-packed survival story.
