Dear Haymarket Families,
October was an exciting month full of valuable learning experiences that our wonderful teachers prepared. As Mrs. Gazda and I go into classrooms, we are constantly seeing engaged, active learners that are focused on growing each and every day. Growth comes in more ways than just academics each day...we are also supporting social and emotional growth as well!
November is always a weird month full of days off for various reasons! We encourage you to continue to work with your child by reading with/to them every day. Don't forget about writing though! Great writers are great readers! Below is the new bulletin board in the office that outlines the expectations at each grade level with some examples of writing to go with them. Please take a moment to look at them closer when you are in the office next!
Please remember that we need you to ask questions and engage in your child's education throughout the year. If you ever have any questions about how you can support your child's growth mindset and learning, please contact your child's teacher.
With Gratitude For Your Partnership,
Mr. Baldwin and Mrs. Gazda

All Operation Turkey donations benefit families in Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Please note, should contributions for Operation Turkey exceed our budgeted need, gifts will be directed to where they are needed most to help children and families living in poverty throughout Northern Virginia. These materials are neither sponsored nor endorsed by Prince William County, Manassas City, or Manassas Park Public Schools

November is Military Appreciation Month
To all our Military Families (from military.com),
Military Family Appreciation Month is a time set aside to recognize you, the military family.
Military families know what it means to serve. Every day, you get up and support your service member, standing by during long trainings and deployments. You know the risks, but you accept this life of service anyway.
You know service is an honor.
You are the backbone of our military. You are the quiet, but steady fuel at home that keeps the fire burning. You keep track of military pay, benefits and news, because you know they make a daily difference in your life. And when your time as an actively serving family comes to an end, you support your veteran.
Serving is just what you do.
Traditionally, the president signs a proclamation recognizing that service and declaring November as Military Family Month. Over the month, families just like yours are honored and recognized for their commitment and contributions in support of our military and nation.

Early Dismissals
If you must pick your student up early, please arrive before 3:30pm. We will not be able to call students to the office after 3:30pm. Students called for dismissal after 3:30pm will be dismissed to the office with car riders. This allows us to reduce interruptions to the classroom, provide continual supervision for all our students and focus on the dismissing students safely. Parents coming in after 3:30pm will be asked to wait in the office for their student. You must come into the office, wait, and sign your student out on the dismissal log. Thank you for your continued support.
