Sunny Palms Community Leader Meeting Schedule and Key Dates
Mark your calendars! Our leader meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at St. John's Episcopal Church Parish Hall at 902 S Orleans, Tampa, FL 33606 from 7-8pm.
June 1st
Plus these important dates:
The Bridging Ceremony - is Sunday May 17th at 3pm
Bridging is Sunday, May 17th at 3pm at Hyde Park Methodist Church
If your troop is bridging and you haven't yet RSVP'd, please do so by emailing Caryn at carynratch@verizon.net. Caryn Ratchford and Jacque Griggs are co-chairing the ceremony.
Please RSVP for your troop and an estimate of numbers so we will have something to use as a guide. A troop did ask if they were required to attend and the answer is no, but we hope most of the troops do participate. It is difficult for many of us to meet the bridging patch requirements (talking with an older troop and a younger troop) without the joint event and it is nice to see all of the ages together.
You are welcome to reply directly to Caryn ( carynratch@verizon.net) if you would like to help with the event. Please also let us know if you have any suggestions or questions, but for now please share the date with your troop parents so they can get it on their calendar.
Summer Camp Registration
We are using Bunk1 for our Summer Camp registration this year and we did experience some technical issues related to high volume of users logging on at the same time or incompatible browsers (Internet Explorer is not recommended). A number of users who began the process were concerned that their reservation did not register or that their deposit payment was not captured. If this is the case, we advise that they visit www.bunk1.com and log-in to view their personal camp portal. NOTE: Parents should only visit bunk1.com directly if they have already begun the registration process. Here they can see all of the sessions they've registered for and make any payments.
Early Bird Registration
Troop Leaders will be able to re-register their girls and adults from April 15 through June 30. We will be offering some fantastic incentives for girls, troop leaders and community team volunteers so stay tuned for more information. We hope you will encourage your troop leaders to participate in Early Bird!
Summer Troops!
If your troop is just getting started and will still be meeting over the summer and is taking new girls, please let Tiffany Davies know (tdavies@gswcf.org). We will be tweaking the opportunity catalog to reflect only those troops that are still meeting (and it would be GREAT to have some options up there). If you are willing to host a few meetings over the summer for any interested girls (does not have to be your troop) let Tiffany know that, too! Girls working on leadership awards - this could be a great opportunity!
P.S.: We are starting new troops still at this point in the year, proving that year round recruitment does work! If you know someone who wants to get started as a leader now, let Tiffany know (tdavies@gswcf.org)!
Troop Status for Fall--Info Requested
This will help the community get a good sense of what direction your troop is headed in for next year.
