FosterJam

Raising Awareness for Foster Care & Adoption

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Amber Singleton, and over the last year, I've become a certified foster and adoptive mom. Not long after starting the process to foster and adopt, I realized I wanted to do more to help kids in foster care. The video below shares exactly what I had in mind.

Note: It was created before the holidays last year, but you'll get the idea. :)

Fund the Farm
A lot has happened since this video was created. I've had the privilege of having two foster children in my home, an experience that came with some of the highest highs and the lowest lows, but that only furthered my commitment to getting the farm off the ground. I realized first hand just how desperately these kids need our help.

With more than 500,000 kids in foster care in the U.S. (100,000 of them needing permanent homes and 20,000 of them aging out of the system each year), something has to be done to raise awareness and recruit more families and mentors to provide them with the love and support they deserve. That's the purpose of FosterJam, to make a little noise and get attention for this very important issue.

So, what about the concerts?

Well, imagine an intimate setting of 2,500 of your closest fans. A rustic, country barn is the backdrop, with some white lights to set the mood. Everyone brings their own blanket. No muss, no fuss. Just great artists and great music in a laid-back atmosphere.
That's the vision I have for FosterJam and for what many nights will be like on the farm. For now, though, we have to start somewhere, since we'll need the proceeds from the kick-off concerts to help us secure the farm (and, yes, I already have the perfect place picked out!).

So, to start, we'll do the initial concerts on Toledo Bend in northwest Louisiana, and then maybe next year, you can come down to the farm for an encore event! Until then, please consider joining me this fall and performing for a FosterJam kick-off concert!

I hope you'll be there.
