Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals Announces Assistant Principal of the Year: Steve Throne, Millard South
The Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals has selected Steve Throne as the 2019 Assistant Principal of the Year. This award is presented annually to a Principal who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in their school, region, and at the state level. The winner will have demonstrated their enthusiasm for the Assistant Principalship by support from students, parents, teachers and peers.
Mr. Throne has been in education since 1993, where he started his career as a Physical Education teacher and coach at Lourdes Central Catholic in Nebraska City. Mr. Throne has been the Assistant Principal/Activities Director at Millard South High School since 2013. Mr. Throne was the Assistant Principal/Activities Director at Sergeant Bluff-Luton (Iowa) HS from 2010-2013, and, prior to that served Millard South High School as a teacher, assistant activities director, and head boys basketball coach from 2003-2010. Steve Throne has been a member of the Nebraska Coaches Association, Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, Nebraska Council of School Administrators (NCSA), the Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals (NSASSP). Throne has provided leadership for the NSIAAA (2015-2018) and the NSAA Student Advisory Committee (2016 to present).
Congratulations to Steve Throne for his selection as the Assistant Principal of the Year for the state of Nebraska.

Juniors will be preparing for the ACT on January 23rd and January 24th with the ON TO COLLEGE Naviance Test Prep Sessions. Rooms assignments will be posted. Students ONLY report on their assigned day. School starts at 10:00AM for all students each day.

Parents, students or school employees may nominate a Millard South staff member for this award. Those nominated must go above and beyond what would be expected. Nominations can be submitted by clicking on the link below and is also on the Millard South website. Please tell why this person deserves this award. Give examples of how the individual goes above and beyond his or her normal duties. Awards are presented at the end of the school year.
