Chamber of Secrets
By J. K. Rowling
Summary
In this sequel Harry Potter once again travels to the marvelous Hogwarts, but this time not without warning. He and his friends, Ron and Hermione, are back learning how to use magic as young wizards and witch. There is yet another Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and he would be the famous Gilderoy Lockhart who almost everyone, except for Harry and the other teachers, seems to love. All of a sudden strange attacks start happening with students being paralyzed and a message saying "THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED, ENEMIES OF THE HEIR BEWARE." The entire school goes under panic waiting for the next attack and wondering who the heir of Slytherin is. The entirety of the mystery at hand gets Harry and his friends determined to find out who or what is causing these attacks and to put an end to it.
Harry Potter
As one can tell he is the main character in this book. He may only be a 12-year-old, but he sure doesn't act like one. He is courageous, compassionate, and curious about this magical world. In the book he is the one that gets his friends into the adventures whether it be being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or his curiosity getting the better of him. Harry is the hero in this book trying his best to save the school and discover its mysteries. Without him Hogwarts would be doomed.
Setting: Hogwarts
This enormous castle is the campus Harry Potter has his adventures in. Located on an island in the middle of a lake, it has vast hallways, magical talking paintings, dungeons, and ghosts. It is the school of witchcraft and wizardry with magic around every corner.

Book VS Movie
As everyone knows this book series has its very own movie series. Now Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the book, has much more detail and some events that don't appear in the movie. The movie does indeed have its perks with fabulous visuals, music, and actors along with the story. The story, though, is the same overall and both the book and movie, I think, are spectacular. Reading the book is an entirely different adventure to go on and a great one at that. If one has only seen the movies they have better read the books too for there is so much more amazement and wonder included.
About the Author
Joanne Rowling was born on July 31st, 1965 and grew up in Chepstow, Gwent. Nothing truly exciting happens until she leaves Chepstow for Exeter University where she earned a French and Classics degree. After college Jo worked as a researcher at Amnesty International and other jobs. She started writing the Harry Potter books during a delayed train trip from Manchester to London King's Cross. Over the next five years she made the plots for the rest of the books. She moved to Portugal and taught English, got married in 1992, had a daughter in 1993, got divorced, and moved back to the UK with her daughter. She completed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone there and created the pen name J. K. Rowling, K standing for Kathleen, by publishers request because it was thought not to appeal to boys with a woman's name on the cover. Over the next many years she wrote the rest of the Harry Potter series with a few spin off books as well. For more information about J. K. Rowling visit http://www.jkrowling.com/.
