Running of the Bells at BBIS: Parent Night
5th grade: September 26, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
6th grade: October 1, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
This is not a "come and go" event. It will be scheduled to resemble your child's day, so your promptness on the designated evening is essential for you to get the most from the evening.

Math Teacher
How long have you been at BBI? First Year at BBIS, but 7 years with MISD.
Where are you from and where did you grow up? Was raised in Silsbee, TX
What inspired you to work with children? My mom worked as a para, so growing up around schools and watching the daily lives of teachers inspired me to become a teacher in addition to my love for children.
What is your favorite book? The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins or Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding
What was your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject growing up was English. I loved everything there was to know about grammar, spelling, and reading.
If you could learn to one thing, what would it be? If I could learn to do anything, it would be to learn a new language.
If you could have any other career, what would it be? If I had any other job, it would be a chef or baker. Cooking is my therapy.
Who do you consider your hero? My “hero” would be my dad. Watching him through his rounds of cancer was not only an emotional experience but an inspiring one.
People would be surprised to know…People would be surprised to know that I once had a small baking business on the side.

What inspired you to work with children? Volunteering at my kids school

What was your favorite subject in school? Reading
If you could learn to one thing, what would it be? Cure all sickness
If you could have any other career, what would it be? Working with the elderly
Who do you consider your hero? Mother Theresa
People would be surprised to know…Held hurdle record for a few years in high school!
BBIS General Information
Early morning child care begins at 6:30 a.m. and all students must be enrolled online through the MISD website.
The first bell rings at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. The instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m.
