SMART PROGRAM UPDATE
The SMART Program is an $800 million bond that provides critically needed funding for Broward County Public Schools. SMART addresses elements of Safety, Music & Art, Athletics, Renovations, and Technology at schools across the District.
The Renovations element of the SMART Program largely focuses on improving schools and the educational experience of students. A six-step process is put in place to ensure that all Primary Renovation projects are completed efficiently. Charles W. Flanagan High School has begun the Construction phase of its Primary Renovations in which all enhancements will be implemented. Once renovations are complete, students, faculty, and staff will begin to benefit from the upgrades.

As part of the School Choice Enhancement Program (SCEP), schools are allocated $100,000 to spend at their discretion. Common uses of the funds include laptops, golf carts, projectors, and classroom furniture for students and teachers.

- The school community is voting on items to purchase with the SCEP funds.
- Following receipt of the voting results, items will be purchased, delivered and installed in a prioritized order.
