Alm's RevELLations
What we're learning in Miss Alm's ELL Classes
Welcome!
I work with students from various countries to develop their language and reading skills. Some students need help developing language. Some students also need to grow as readers. In my classroom, everyone is accepted and encouraged to grow and learn.
Grade 1 Language Instruction
First graders who score less than a 4.0 on ACCESS attend language development classes. Here we work on the domains of reading, writing, listening, and speaking using Longman/Pearson's Cornerstone, Words Their Way for English Learners, and the Oxford Picture Dictionary for Kids.

Grade 3 Intervention
Students in my 3rd grade group have a good grasp of language, but need a focus on reading skills with attention on language. Here, I use Level 3 of the Leveled Literacy curriculum and supplement with materials to help students grow in the domains of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Growing as Readers
Leveled Literacy Intervention
Through the use of the Leveled LIteracy Intervention program, students learn foundational reading skills. Students progress and grow with the aim of reading as close to grade level as possible.
