Parkside Elementary Fourth Grade
March 21st - 24th, 2016
Literacy/Reading
Our week in literacy will include reteaching character analysis, text meaning and point of view. Students will be completing their menu items (extended assignments/practice that go with our standards). If a student did not finish the assessment from this past Friday s/he will get the chance to complete it on Monday. Cycle 4 test will be returned after spring break for test correction opportunities.
Nightly homework includes compass learning and reading and logging it into agendas. We are in week 2 of our two week challenge- looking for 100% completion of homework! Be sure to ask your child what day of the week their agenda check is and be sure they are prepared with their reading log listed (Friday's agenda check for this week will happen on Thursday).
Math
This week in math we will continue our fractions unit. We will be identifying equivalent fractions and comparing and ordering fractions. This week, EOG prep homework will be due on Thursday! Below you will find a link of fun activities that you can do at home to help reinforce fraction concepts they will be learning in school.

International Project
Planning Sheet Due on Thursday, March 17th!!
Students who turned in their “yellow sheet” on time will have the sheet returned on Monday so they may start their project. Fourth grade was given North America, but students were encouraged to choose their native or ancestral country. This is mostly an at home project, however students will be given time in class so I can help with the information. Make sure that you help make this a FUN project and a learning opportunity.
