Homecoming Update

The Franklin Central Student Council is hard at work creating exciting in-person and virtual alternatives to our typical parade and events; we have already received some spectacular hype videos from all around the district! This week has been designated as Homecoming Week and many of our school day activities and traditions will still occur, including theme days and Homecoming Court voting. The festivities will culminate with the traditional crowning of a Homecoming king and queen and recognition of their court at the football game against the Avon Orioles on Friday night.

Go Flashes!!!

Thursday, October 29 - PSAT Day ***Adjusted Schedule***

All Sophomores and Juniors A-Z (Hybrid and Online Only) will attend school in person Thursday 10/29 from 7:30am-1:00pm.

All Freshmen and Seniors A-Z will attend virtually.

Sophomores and Juniors (Cohort 1, Cohort 2, and Online Only) will be taking the PSAT on 10/29. Testing will begin promptly at 7:30 and students will be dismissed at 1:00. Breakfast and lunch will be served and bus transportation will be provided at this adjusted time.

National Merit Semi-Finalist

Congratulations to senior Kathleen McCoy for being recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for her outstanding results on the PSAT. Over 1.5 million juniors participated in the 2019 PSAT and Kathleen's scores placed her in the top 1%. We are very proud to have Kathleen represent FC and the Franklin Township community.

New Options for Calling in Absences: (317) 803-5535

Compulsory attendance laws still apply!!! If your child is out for any reason, it is imperative that you contact the attendance line and report the reason for the absence.

When calling the attendance line to report and absence or requesting an early dismissal, please be sure to listen to all of the options available. There is now a third attendance voicemail.

The three lines are-

Covid symptom line: To be used if experiencing symptoms or exposed only.

Absence line: To be used for non-Covid related symptoms or other reason for absence (funeral, appointments, etc.)

Early dismissal line: To be called two hours in advance in order for the student to leave early.

*Please note that the best way to report early dismissal is to send in a note with your student to be taken to the Attendance Office in the morning before classes begin, to receive their pass for early dismissal.*

Thank you for your help in streamlining our attendance reporting!

How do I enter my attendance when I am learning from home?

A new feature has been added to our Infinite Campus system! ALL students (both hybrid and online) MUST now check themselves in for their virtual learning from home via their Infinite Campus student page. Students will be required to do this every day that they are NOT on campus; when you are in a physical classroom, the teacher will still take attendance. Attendance should be entered no later than 9am each day.

Entering Student Attendance for Virtual Learning Days

Thank you all for your patience as we make the adjustments that will result in a more efficient morning for everyone!

Don't Forget to enter your attendance!!!

ALL students that are learning ONLINE (Edmentum or Cohort group) MUST enter attendance using the button in their Infinite Campus page (directions below.)

Virtual College Visits

Juniors and seniors are encouraged to visit for a current list of virtual college presentations. Don't miss out on the chance to hear directly from college reps about admissions, programs etc... Butler, Purdue, IU, Vincennes, Earlham, DePauw, Valparaiso and several out of state schools have already secured time slots and are ready to recruit FC students, so sign up soon! Be sure to check often as additional colleges will continue to schedule visits throughout the semester. Students should contact their counselors with log in questions.

Seniors needing transcripts

Franklin Central currently utilizes the electronic transcript service Parchment to send all transcripts on behalf of students and graduates. Seniors will need to go to and create their own account (don't forget to keep your username and password handy). From there students can send transcripts to any email address (including to self) for free while they are a student at FC. It's easy, convenient and fast!

Home Athletic Events: Expectations and Procedures

Although our next home football game isn't until Homecoming Friday, we need your help to make ALL of our FC sporting events run as smoothly as possible to help guarantee we continue to have home events!

All bleachers will be marked off with red tape--- DO NOT SIT ON OR STAND IN FRONT OF THE SEATS WITH RED TAPE. This goes for both indoor and outdoor events with bleacher seating. Families will have enough space to accommodate multiple members in a set of seat. IN THE STUDENT SECTION: There should only be one person per unmarked space. Just because you might be able to squeeze two people in between the red tape doesn't mean you should. PLEASE HELP YOUR TEAM by following the expectations set forth.
