This newsletter was composed using Smore. The website is free, easy to use and a great way to send info to students, parents, and staff. It may also be used as a tool for student projects! www.smore.com Workshop will be held every period on Tuesday, December 10th in the library classroom.

GOOGLE TOOL TO KNOW ABOUT

Google Sites

Now that staff and students have Google accounts, creating a website in Google allows you to share documents with students, create collaborative class projects, peer review, presentations, podcasts and research projects. Workshop will be held every period on Tuesday, November 12th in the library classroom.

1st Quarter Statistics from the Learning Commons


  • 4278 books checked out
  • 2250 students signed in independently (the number doesn't include walk-ins who don't sign in!)
  • 461 classes came in to work on projects


Did you know...


Out-of-school reading habits of students has shown that even 15 minutes a day of independent reading can expose students to more than a million words of text in a year.


56 percent of young people say they read more than 10 books a year, with middle school students reading the most. Some 70 percent of middle school students read more than 10 books a year, compared with only 49 percent of high school students.
