Teacher Meet & Greet - Thursday, August 19th
We are hosting an in-person Teacher Meet & Greet and supply drop off. Parents and Students are invited to stop by, meet their teacher, and drop off their supplies during your designated time slot based on the last name of your oldest child attending JBE. We are trying to keep the number of people in the building at one time limited. If you are unable to make it at your designated time slot, please call the office to make an appointment to come at a different time.
Oldest Student at JBE Last name
Last Name: A-F 4:45-5:30
Last Name: G-O 5:30-6:15
Last Name: P-Z 6:15-7:00
Students can find out who their teacher is at our Teacher Meet & Greet event.
Incoming Title 1 PK students/guardians need to make an appointment to see Mrs. Ventimiglia during Meet & Greet time!

- If you received it and did not fill it out, please fill it out and return it as soon as possible. You can return it Meet and Greet night or drop it off to the JBE office. Office hours are 7:30-4:30 Tuesday - Friday. The office will be closed until 11:00 am on Wednesday morning so our staff can attend MCR2 District meetings.
It is very important for us to have up-to-date contact information and medical information on your student. Please help us get our records updated as soon as possible.
If you need a place to complete your online registration, you can access a school computer during Teacher Meet & Greet night, Thursday, August 19th from 4:45-7:00. Please bring your student's proof of residency, immunization records, and birth certificate so we can help you upload the information.
JBE Morning Procedure
We wanted to give you a heads up that unfortunately at this time only students & staff will be allowed in the building. The entrance by the powercat will be open at 7:30. The drop off line is for people to pull up, drop off and drive away. You are welcome to walk your student to the front door. If you wish to get out with your student, please park in a spot to do so.
Please help us prepare your student for the first day. Students will not attend a traditional morning assembly. If your student does not want to eat school breakfast, they should go directly to their classroom. If your student is eating school breakfast they should go to the cafeteria, get their grab and go breakfast and then go to their classroom to eat.
Students that ride the bus will need to know upon entering the building if they are eating breakfast or not. This will help us get them into the correct line.

Jonesburg Elementary Procedural Information
Entering the building/breakfast:
Students will enter the building through the same bus and drop off doors as in the past. Drop off doors open at 7:30. Students who wish to eat breakfast at school will get a grab and go option and will eat in their classroom.
Morning Greeting & Academic Recognition
Each morning we will have school wide announcements. We will not have our typical in person morning assembly, but we will use Zoom to reach each classroom and have a virtual morning assembly so we can still start our morning together with our daily pledge, announcements and recognition.
Recess:
One grade level at a time will be allowed to go to recess. Thank you to PTO for purchasing a grade level set of recess equipment for students to take outside.
Lunch:
At this time parents are not permitted in the school, so parents cannot join students for lunch.
Lunch will be served in the cafeteria. Students will sit with their classroom cohort. Each class will be assigned a specific table to sit at to eat.
Morning Drop Off
Parents will not be allowed in the building in the mornings like in the past. We are expecting an increase in student drop offs. Please pull through the drop off line in a single file line and have your student ready to unload. If you need a few extra minutes with your student to sign a paper, finish breakfast etc., we understand, but please be courteous of others and pull into a parking spot until your student is ready to unload. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Dismissal
The pick up and walker dismissal bell will ring at 3:35. We will have a Google Sheet that has the name of students being picked up on it. This will be projected in each classroom. As parents arrive in the lobby we will change the student name color which will let the teacher and student know that their ride has arrived. They will then come to the lobby for pick up.
At 4:10 all bus students will be dismissed to the cafeteria.
Other Information
Students do not have to wear a mask in school, but they may if they choose to. They must wear it properly or it can be taken away. You will be notified if your student was not properly using their mask.
Students will have assigned seats and must remain in their assigned seat.
We will do our best to keep students 3 feet apart.
Students who receive special education or Title I services will be allowed to leave their homeroom to attend class with their special education teacher or Title I teacher. Hand washing will be encouraged before and after this transition.
We will limit all non-essential personnel in the building. Only approved vendors scheduled through the principal will be allowed in during the school day. Parents will only be allowed in the vestibule to communicate with the office staff.
For example we can still have picture day.
PTO parents, volunteer readers, book fair volunteers etc. will not be allowed at this time.

HELP US ENSURE YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY AT THE END OF THE DAY!
It is important that you have a consistent routine for your child to follow at the end of each day. If you need to make a change to your child’s normal routine you must send a note with your child in the morning.
In an emergency, you may call, but you MUST speak to a secretary before 2pm. Do not leave a message on the school answering service. The answering service is to report absences only, and it is not checked throughout the day. ONLY call in the event of an emergency. A note should be sent if you know in advance of a schedule change.
We will not make any changes after 2pm. Our goal is to get every student safely to their correct destination at the end of each day. We need your help to make sure this happens.
HANDBOOK & SOCIAL MEDIA FORMS
This is a reminder that the elementary parent/student handbook is found online. You can access it by clicking this link or by visiting our web page, clicking parent information and then choosing Handbook.
We also must have your signed permission before we are allowed to include your student's picture in any posts on social media pertaining to JBE. We love to celebrate the learning happening at JBE, and we do this by sharing pictures.
Please return the signed permission form to your child's teacher as soon as possible, if you have not done so.

Attendance Letters & School Communication
I know that there is a certain amount of anxiety involved with receiving attendance letters from the school. Please know that we are mandated to mail attendance letters after your students 3rd, 5th and 8th absence. This DOES NOT mean that we are going to call the truancy officer. On the back of the letter you will see the dates of your students absence and the detail that we noted when you called in. As always, we will be in touch if we have specific concerns. Please continue to communicate with our office about your students attendance.
