A Note From Mrs. Looman
- There is no school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
- We are in the process of our Middle of Year reading and math assessments. Information from these assessments will be used to help inform report cards, which will be coming home at the beginning of February.
- For those 5th and 6th graders who were planning on auditioning for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", please see the announcement below.

Please know auditions for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN have been postponed to Thursday, January 25th from 2:30-4:30 in the Mohawk Trail Regional auditorium. Please come prepared to sing HAPPINESS. Copies of the sheet music and a printable contact form may be requested from MTRS Director of Performing Arts Eva Husson-Stockhamer, email@example.com, or may be found on the MTRS school website under Performing Arts. A Bed For Every Child
Do you know a child who is in need of a bed?
A Bed for Every Child will provide a new twin mattress and wooden bed frame to a child in Massachusetts in need of a bed. Families can access the program through a referral made by advocates, such as case managers or community providers (healthcare workers, teachers, guidance counselors). The typical wait time to receive a bed is 30-45 days. SBHC staff can submit an application on behalf of a family! Click here to access the Bed Request Application Form. Keeping Kids Safe and Secure Online
We are pleased to announce the United States Attorney’s Office District of Massachusetts will be holding an online webinar for adults that will bring awareness to the dangers children face online and to educate adults on how to keep children safe. There is an attached flyer as well as the registration link below which you can copy and paste into an email to distribute. Please feel free to share this information with your communities. Space is limited and registration is required in advance.

MTRS theater participation opportunity for district 5th and 6th grade students
The Mohawk Trail Regional School (MTRS) Performing Arts Department will be casting for their spring theater production, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, being performed on May 17 and 18.
Fifth and sixth grade students in the districts are invited by Eva Husson-Stockhamer, MTRS director of performing arts, to audition for participation in the cast chorus. Auditions will take place on Friday, January 12, 2024 in the Mohawk Trail Regional School auditorium. A brief meeting for elementary school student parents/caregivers will follow auditions on Friday, January 12, 2024.
If your fifth or sixth grader is interested, please fill out this form to give permission for your student to participate and offer necessary contact information. Forms must be completed and turned in by the day of auditions. For questions or to request a hard copy of the participation form, contact Miss Eva at firstname.lastname@example.org who manages the details of the production including rehearsal schedules, transportation, and more. Please know, while transportation from the elementary schools to MTRS may be available, a parent/guardian/caregiver will be responsible for picking up your cast member following rehearsals.
General rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The expectation for the fifth and sixth grade students will be to rehearse on Fridays only, beginning Friday, March 1. A few weeks before opening night, more rehearsals will be added. Families and caregivers will be given a full rehearsal schedule following auditions. Email will be used for communication about production details.
