Room 406
Mrs. Hall's 3rd Grade 2016-2017
We had another productive week here in Room 406! We finished our unit on Economics in Social Studies, we finished our final drafts in writing, we researched our natural resources in reading, AND we even rocked out some reading assessments! Hopefully your child came home and shared their NEW reading level! The growth they've made this year is amazing!
Don't forget to check out the Shutterfly site! It's so cool to see your kids in action! (link above)
Reading
1) What is your resource used for?
2) What are some of the consequences of using natural resources?
3) How and why should people conserve natural resources?
We also talked about how to paraphrase information, citing our source, and how to contribute your ideas to your book club in a productive way. :)
Writing
Math
This week we continued to focus on comparing fractions. We played a game called "Fractions War". The kids used fractions strips to see which fraction was largest. Next week we will move into area and perimeter.
Social Studies
Last chance for orders! Rocket launchers ($2) and self-watering plant holders ($3) will be produced next week!
