“Building the Reign of God, One Child at a Time”
Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
It was not too long ago we were celebrating Advent and the ‘Coming of Jesus Christ’. It is indeed hard to believe that we are entering into February! This is the midpoint of our school year. It is a blessing to see that the days are getting longer, the cold temperatures are hopefully receding and our students can now enjoy the beauty of winter that is so graciously been given to us by God. February is a very hectic month with Professional Development days, Family Day, and a Winter Break. Please take the time to review the school calendar for February found on our website.
We are also entering a time where we want to hear from you! Grades 4 & 7 parents, you will be receiving letters from Alberta Education in our annual satisfaction survey. Our students in grades 4 and grade 7 will be surveyed as well as our teachers. These surveys provide valuable information in our school planning, show us areas where we are successful, and areas that require improvement and our attention. Please take the time to provide this valuable feedback. We have provided you the following link to our current school report card and school improvement plan. (click here). We are very proud of our school and the accomplishments we have achieved and look forward to achieving them.
As Catholics, we all know that “Valentine’s Day” wasn’t invented by the greeting card or chocolate selling companies- it’s the feast day of St. Valentine! It is widely recognized as a day for love, and devotion. While it seems that the exchange of "valentines" is more the result of secular custom rather than the memory of St. Valentine, there is a Christian message that should be remembered. The love of our Lord depicted beautifully in the image of His most Sacred Heart, is a sacrificial, self-less, and unconditional love. Such is the love that each Christian is called to express in his or her own life, for God and neighbor. On this coming Valentine's day, looking to the example of this great Saint, each person should offer again his or her love to the Lord, for only by doing so can he properly love those who are entrusted to his care and any other neighbor. Each person should again pledge his love to those loved ones, praying for their intentions, and thanking them for their love in return. During a pandemic, we need to rely on each other, be kind to everyone we meet, and love one another.
As a Catholic learning community, we strive to provide a safe, loving, and caring environment and assist our students in developing the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to meet the challenges of the future. The ability to realize any school goal or priority relies on the partnership between home, school, and parish.

Together We Can Make A Difference
Bullying can be a problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and over the Internet. Each year, on Pink T-Shirt Day, we encourage all of you to wear something pink to symbolize that we as a society will not tolerate bullying anywhere. Take the message and remember it all year long.
