Year in Review: Optimism
We are finishing our review of The Positivity Project by focusing on the character strength of Optimism. People who are optimistic find meaning in hardship and can create a vision for the future. They look at potential obstacles as opportunities, rather than threats. They also focus on the good in any situation and use it as a stepping-stone to success.
Watch the video clip with your family and discuss the following questions:
1) Optimism can shift your persepctive. What is something in your life that could benefit from a more optimistic perspective?
2) How can it positvely impact you to have optimism? How can is sometimes be difficult to have optimism?
3) What are some words or phrases you can use when you want to bemore optimistic or spread your optimism to others?
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

Baroda Memorial Day Parade
Congratulations to the Lakeshore Middle School Band Members who represented Lakeshore by participating in the Baroda Memorial Day Parade event on May 30th from the Baroda American Legion to Ruggles Cemetery. All of these students volunteered to memorize a challenging piece of music to perform alongside the Lakeshore Lancer (High School) Marching Band. Their maturity, responsibility, and professionalism were on exhibition as they honored our fallen veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice securing our freedom. Students were pleased to be treated to a fire truck ride and a cookout afterward, thanks to the Baroda Fire Department.
