By Bridget and Allie
Definition
Epilepsy is a disorder of the central nervous system
Epilepsy is a silent sickness. People around you may have the disorder and you don't even know.
Epilesy affects the lives of 20 million Americans- as many as breast cancer.
More attention and money need to be given to finding a cure for Epilepsy.
Epilepsy Facts
Epilepsy causes many different types of seizures.
Epilepsy is a disorder some are born with, but can also be causes by injury to the brain any time after birth.
Some people with seizures have to take large amounts of medications in order to have seizure free days.
Seizures can be mild to severe and can even cause death.
Even though it effects as many people as breast cancer it gets far less attention or research funding.
People with epilepsy are even mentioned in the Bible.
