Is your student in need of a student I.D.?

If your student needs a student I.D. for this current school year please email Michaela Kvidera at kvidera_michaela@asdk12.org with your student's current head shot (nothing else should be in the picture, just a head shot of your student) . Sponsor Teacher Spotlight

Our Sponsor Teacher Bethany Peters:

  • I was born in Anchorage and grew up in Southern California and the Eagle River/Chugiak area. I graduated from Chugiak High School and earned a B.A. in Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) from the UAF in 2001. While earning my bachelors, I studied abroad for a year in both Venezuela and Spain. In 2010, I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from UAA. I substitute taught for several years in the Anchorage School District which included many long term sub jobs teaching Spanish and other subjects. In 2014 I accepted a job teaching middle school Math in Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow). I spent three years teaching in Utqiagvik before returning to the Anchorage area in 2017. Since then I have taught Middle School Science at Central Middle School, 5th-8th grade small group Language Arts classes at Family Partnership and had the joy of starting the FPCS Enrichment Program in the fall of 2018. I have an 18 year old daughter and together we have a dog (Ruby), a cat (Simba), and a fish named Red. I enjoy our beautiful state through camping, hiking and four-wheeling with family.

I am thrilled to be able to continue the FPCS Enrichment Program for a third year as well as adding sponsoring families to my repertoire. I am honored to support and partner with parents who are highly motivated and passionate about providing a well-rounded education for their children. I'm looking forward to another great school year and getting to know all our new staff and families.
