Extended Learning Coming Soon
Welcome Dawn Brittain
Other Program Staff Still Needed
We are very excited to introduce parent and Danville resident Dawn Brittain as the Site Coordinator for the 21st Century Extended Learning Program. Dawn has broad experience as an organizer and business person. She is an active member of the Parent Teacher Group (PTG), and looks forward to bringing her knowledge of the community and relationships with fellow parents to afternoon programming.
“This is great! Our children need more choices in the afternoon. I am thrilled to be working with teachers and staff to create fun opportunities to learn and grow together.” Dawn adds, “Parents, and others interested in getting involved in the program should email me or visit our program’s Facebook page.” (Facebook: Danville School Extended Learning Opportunities, or dawnbrittain@danvilleschoolk12vt.us)
The Danville program is tentatively scheduled to begin in December; however a firm start date has not been set. “I have two staff positions that I need to fill before we can move forward. Right now, I am working with teachers to gather their ideas for exciting activities. Once I have my staff on board, we are open for business.” The Danville program is part of the Caledonia Central Supervisory Union’s 21st. Century Extended Learning Program that provides school year and summer programming for students in grades K – 8 at Barnet, Danville, Peacham, and Walden Schools.
