Shout Outs
In the spring of last school year, Mr. Inciong (Mr. I, instrumental music) met with DR Strings in Emerson, NJ to learn about the small guitar string manufacturer. He visited them to find ways to collaborate and incorporate his findings into his newly overhauled Guitar Lab & Music Industry and Drum Lab & Music Tech classes. The result was a year supply of their incredible hand made strings at a heavily discounted rate to outfit our guitars and basses with! Learning about their products, manufacturing process, and a little of their business side will definitely make its way into the content of these new classes.
Overall, the meeting yielded very positive results which will lead to more collaboration with DR Strings. Please check their website out as well! http://www.DRstrings.com
Donors Choose....Ms. Gomez
From Ms. Gomez, "I created a Donors Choose project after I learned about it in one of my grad school classes. It is an organization where teachers can create projects they want to achieve in their classroom. Donors Choose ensures that the materials requested are school related and then they allow teachers to post on social media. I was able to create this project and have it funded in an hour and a half! The great thing about Donors Choose is that they match donations up to $50 for the first week the project is active. Now my students have a place to work collaboratively, a place to conference with me about their writing, flexible seating, and writing workshop books to guide them."
