So many fun things going on! I will announce the chaperones for the field trip tomorrow after school. I do believe there will be plenty of seats at the movies if you want to simply join us there on your own. You are also welcome to pop on over to the park too. Official chaperones will be riding the school bus and responsible for a small group of children.
Dia de Los Ninos is going to be a wonderful day celebrating children from all walks of life. Please be sure that your child has appropriate shoes for being outside and that are easy to get off and on for the jumping balloons. Fun times!
I cannot thank you all enough for helping make Melody's celebration of her last chemo treatment a HUGE success. I hope your child came home and you were able to discuss what it means to encourage others, support others as they walk through difficult times and to count their blessings everyday! It was a great afternoon!
Have a great week!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
LANGUAGE ARTS- We began learning some poetice language devices. We learned similes, alliteration and onomatopeia. We will continue reading, studying and learning more about poetry this week too.
SOCIAL STUDIES-We doing activities involving reading and interpreting different types of maps. We are also continuing to look at folktales from other countries and how they help us understand their culture.
SCIENCE- We are still studying plants. We have learned why seeds are shaped differently depending on the plant and how seeds travel. We have learned about how plants need minerals to survive and can get them from other sources than soil.
