Family Newsletter

September 7, 2022

Dear Parents,

Today every student will be bringing home a 5K Walk A Thon packet. The Walk A Thon will take place on Oct. 21, bringing back with it an official 5K Walk tee shirt designed by one or two St. Anne students, our delicious barbecued lunch, the healthy 5K Walk through Golden Gate Park, followed by our mouth-watering Ice Cream treats at the end of the Walk. Please note that our 5K Walk is the only fundraiser in which all our families must participate. Families are encouraged to reach out to local and cross-country family members, co-workers, friends next door and across the country for their support of this fundraiser. Another great way to bring in more money is to have parents check to see if their employer has any corporate sponsorship programs. Many, many companies will match employee contributions, which is a fantastic way to make our fundraiser even more successful. Please be sure to ask your child for the 5K Walk A Thon packet tonight. If your child is going to enter the Tee Shirt Design Contest, please note that the deadline to submit his/her hand drawn artwork is Friday, Sept. 16.

Starting on Aug. 23, 2022, our school has made some policy changes to the Honor Roll policy. Please note that our 22-23 Parent Handbook has our OLD policy. The new policy for Honor Roll is:

  • Students in grades 5-8 are eligible for Honor Roll
  • Starting in the 2022-2023 school year there are two (2) categories of Honor Roll
  • The first category is called Honors. Students in grades 5-8 who earn a 3.7 - 3.99 GPA will be recognized for "Honors."
  • The second category is "Principal's Honors." Students in grades 5-8 who earn a 4.0 GPA in a quarter will be recognized for "Principal Honors."
  • The remaining criteria for earning or not earning Honors or Principal Honors remains UNCHANGED as noted in the 2022-2023 Parent Handbook.

Our Robotics Club is starting up again starting next Tuesday, Sept. 13. Note that we have the good fortune to have 2 or our former members leading the group. If your child is interested and has not yet returned the form, please download it here and have him/her return it to Ms. Creedon by Friday.
