September 28th-October 2nd
What Will We Be Learning This Week??
Writing: We will revise and edit our personal narratives.
Math: We will determine the value of a collection of coins up to one dollar. We will use the cent symbol, dollar sign and decimal to show the value of a group of coins.
Social Studies: We will identify the functions of government through listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Science: We will design a solution to a given problem using experiments to test and gather data.
Important Dates:
- September 28th - Reading MAP Test
- September 29th - Reading MAP Test
- September 30th - Curbside Book Pickup (11:00-1:00)
- September 30th - Last day of Book Fair!
Important Notes:
- This week, you should have received a login page from your child's designer. Please know that iStation, Dreambox, and Reflex math have required time limits set by the district.
Learners should complete at least 45 minutes of iStation during the week (we recommend three 15 minute sessions, or two 20 minute sessions)
Learners should complete between 5-8 lessons per week in Dreambox.
Learners should reach "green light" status 2-3 times per week on Reflex math. This can be accomplished in three 10-15 minute sessions.
MAP Testing:
- Your child will take the reading portion of the MAP assessment on Monday and Tuesday. Please know that it is VERY important that they do this test COMPLETELY BY THEMSELVES. We use this data to drive our instruction, and if learners receive help we will not be able to accurately help your child grow.
