Join Jr. Battle of the Books
Third graders who are interested in reading some great books, having fun talking about them with friends and getting a sample of what Battle of the Books for 4th and 5h grade is like, should consider joining us for Jr. Battle of the books during recess on Fridays 2/7, 2/21, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, and 3/27. (All books selected will have multiple copies available at the Wheaton Public Library and no additional materials are needed.) We are also in need of some parent volunteers to help with practices for the groups on those Fridays. If you have any questions or are able to help please contact Lesley Feinsot at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be on the lookout for additional information and permission slips right after winter break!
Valentine's cards needed
If anyone is willing to buy an extra box of valentines cards for our needy kids, that would be greatly appreciated. Please send boxes to Lisa Parrilli, the social worker. Thanks for your generosity!
Explore More Day volunteers needed
Explore More Day is Friday, May 22 and planning starts now. We need one or two kindergarten and 1st grade parents to serve as grade level coordinators.
We are also in need of volunteers to shadow the current committee chairs for 2nd - 5th grade since this is the committee chairs' last year at Madison.
Explore More Day will be cancelled without these volunteers!

Math Club volunteers needed
We are still looking for some additional parents to help with 3rd Grade Math Club. Unfortunately, we had to cancel 3rd grade Math Club in October because there were not enough parent volunteers to make it successful. If you are interested in helping with the upcoming months please email Jennifer Denson, firstname.lastname@example.org. Third grade meetings are on Tuesdays and the dates for the remainder of the school year are Jan. 14, Feb. 11, Mar. 10, and Apr. 14. All meetings are during lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Hope you can join us!

Save General Mills box tops and scan your receipt
General Mills is phasing out its clipped Box Tops, but some may still be found on products throughout the store. If you have Box Tops, send them into the LLC. If you've never been one to remember to clip and send in Box Tops but have a smart phone, just download the new Box Tops app, and scan your receipt to find participating products. The app will automatically credit Madison's earnings. Madison can earn ten cents for every General Mills box top scanned. The LLC has purchased many copies of award winning books. Let's continue the effort. Download the new app.
