March 19, 2020 UPDATED Newsletter (COVID-19)
A Message from Mrs. Mireles
As we continue to navigate uncharted waters, please know high-quality instruction for every student, will continue to be our mission.
We are working to finalize distance learning for Rawlinson students as we speak. Although learning may look a little different for awhile, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we begin this new phase.
I have been collaborating and learning along side my fellow Administrators, Central Office staff and Technology specialists regarding online learning. Today we began training our teachers on expectations and best practices for Google Classroom.
Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, teachers will begin teaching via Google Classroom. Most students are already very familiar with Google Classroom and use it weekly if not daily, for receiving information and turning in assignments. Teachers are already educating themselves on additional resources, apps and websites that students can easily access and interact with.
If your child has not already logged into Google Classroom via their NISD student portal, please be sure they do so by Monday, March 23, 2020.
Please know, the health and safety of each child and your families during this time, is my greatest hope for all. I so miss their smiling faces, their hugs for me in the hallway, their stories of friends and family and their laughter. School is not school without our students. We miss them dearly.
May each of you find hope in the hopeless, peace where there is anger, and love where there is none.
My best to all,
Sherry Mireles,
Rawlinson MS, Principal
