Materials Pick up
Our next materials pickup will be on Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 12 pm to 6 pm and Thursday, November 5 from 8:30 am - 3 pm. We are excited to announce each student will receive their art kit, math manipulatives, and new reading books.
Please remember that pick up on Wednesday will be the same type of drive-thru as we have had in the past. Please write your child's name, grade, and teacher's name so that our staff can easily find your materials. Thursday will be a self serve pick-up that will require parents to get out of their vehicles to get their materials.

Hello Sun Prairie Families and Staff,
Since the board meeting on Monday night, we have been listening to your questions and comments. We’re sending this to you now so you have all of the information you need. This message includes a video with additional background on the hybrid model decision-making process and a frequently asked question document. We hope these resources will provide you with additional information.
Thanks for making the effort to reach out and share what you think is best for kids in our community. Parents/caregivers, we want you to have the information that you need to make an informed decision. And, we want our employees to have all of the information they need to move forward with planning for hybrid teaching and learning.

News from Nurse Josey
SPASD has developed a “COVID-19 Health Screening Checklist for Students.” This form is meant to be reviewed by students/families before attending in-person school. Though some of your students may not be attending in-person school yet, the form may still be useful to provide information and guidance in the event that you or your student is not feeling well. The form is linked here: SPASD Student COVID 19 Symptom Screening Checklist.pdf
If your student is diagnosed with an illness such as Covid-19, influenza, strep throat, etc., please notify their teacher, the attendance secretary, and/or the health office. SPASD is tracking this information and will need to determine a return date depending on the illness.
If you have any questions, please call, email or see our website: https://www.sunprairieschools.org/departments/health-services

Advanced Learner Program Update
Happy November!
Yahara
All 5th graders will be receiving information about the Yahara River Writers Competition. Any 5th-grade students who are interested and have a passion for writing have an opportunity to enter a piece of writing into the Yahara River Writers competition. This writing opportunity is available through the Greater Dane County Advanced Learner network. Students who are interested will be receiving the guidelines for the area of writing in which they are interested. Students will also have the opportunity to submit artwork for the front cover, back cover, and genre divider pages. Interested 5th graders will need to work on this piece of writing or art outside of the classroom. The rough draft is due December 4th and should be submitted through Google Docs. I, along with other members of my elementary ALP team, will be available for support and revision to prepare the final copy which is due December 18.
Extended Opportunity
If you have questions or concerns regarding any of the above or about the Advanced Learner Program (ALP) in general, please email me at mlboson@sunprairieschools.org.
