From the ADL Health Office
Hello families!
First, I would like to thank you for helping to keep our community safe by having your children stay home if they are ill, modeling mask-wearing, and doing your part in the health screening process.
Here are a few updates:
This is a helpful decision tool from the Vermont Department of Health about steps to take if your child is ill. Let me know if you have any questions about this or your child’s illness. I may also reach out to you if I need additional information about your child. If your child is tested for COVID, please let the school know.
Please adhere to the Vermont rules about traveling, which can be found here.
Remember to get your flu shots! Adults and children should get a flu vaccine every year, and it is especially important now as it could help reduce the burden on the healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some pharmacies are now offering flu shots to children on a walk-in basis instead of making an appointment with their pediatrician. This can be a convenient option, but be sure to call ahead for details.
Again, thank you very much and please let me know if you have any questions.
Take care!

From the ADL Guidance Office
Dear ADL Families,
Greetings from the ADL Guidance Office! We can’t believe it is already October. It is such a beautiful time of the year in Vermont. Students and families have been back in some kind of routine for about a month now. As the dust settles we wanted to reach out and see how families have been doing. Students have reported feeling great about being back and simultaneously anxious about getting their academics completed, and keeping connected with their peers that they might not see as much as they would like. Mrs. Librizzi and I have started meeting with students and are trying to get creative about how to keep friendships going in this hybrid model. We have 16 brand new students this year and the list is growing. It is a unique time to try to make new friends as well as get to know this new community. Listed below are a few articles that we thought might foster great discussion for you to have with your student about how they are coping. We hope that you, as well as your student, will be able to identify current strategies being used, or that could be used, to cope with the stress and worry that is prevalent in the current atmosphere.
