A Message From Your Principal
October Greetings,
It was wonderful to see so many families at our Open House in September! If you didn't get a chance to sign up for parent-teacher conferences, please reach out to the classroom teachers. Our conferences will take place on October 26th and October 27th.
A reminder was sent out last week about dropping students off early for arrival. There is no staff supervision until 8:30 each morning. Please don't drop off your students until 8:30. This is when they will be let in for breakfast. The late bell rings at 8:50. Thank you for your help with this!
Safety has been a priority and continues to be. We have focused on providing safe, welcoming and supportive environments for our students and staff. We have set up the year proactively with common expectations within our MTSS-B model. Our district uses one Student Code of Conduct. The discipline outlined in our Student Code of Conduct reflects how seriously we take the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Consequences are designed to be a learning experience for students. Safety is everyone's responsibility. Adams families have an essential role in this work and can help in the following ways:
- Regularly discuss behavior expectations from school to home as a family
- Support the consequences given by the school by discussing what led to that consequence and a different decision that could be made next time
- Reiterate the message that it is never okay to hurt another student, teacher, or staff member
- Check in daily with your child, listening for what is going well and what may be a challenge
We know life can be incredibly busy, but setting intentional time aside to listen to your child will benefit him/her and your family!
Please see below for important reminders and information. Thank you for supporting our school community,
Mrs. Meagan Bakhit

Volunteer Application
Have a few hours here or there a week to volunteer? We would love to see you at Adams! Teachers appreciate help making copies, preparing learning materials, and helpers in the classroom. We also appreciate volunteers during the busy lunch and recess hour, supervising safety patrol posts during arrival and dismissal, tidying up the gardens, and during "Fun Friday" Arrow drawings! Please call the school 531-299-1000 if you would like to help our school!
Archer Arrow Celebration with Omaha Street Percussion!
Our Archers worked hard to have the OSP group come and perform! We are so proud!
Halloween Parade
The Halloween Parade will be October 25th at 3:00
We will bring the students out along the front of the school and around the track twice.
We will finish with a little dancing on the basketball courts!
A few important reminders:
- Your child needs to be able to put on his/her costume independently
- Save the make-up for home or trick or treating
- No costume weapons at ALL
- If your child isn't participating, he/she can enjoy some fun activities in the library
The PTA is a great way to get involved at your child's school! The upcoming Fall Festival needs many volunteers to make this a success. Please sign up here!
Next Meeting is September 11th at 6:00pm in the Library
iPad Supervision
There have been several incidents where students are being unsafe on their school iPads. It is a good idea to regularly look through your child's recorded videos and pictures to make sure nothing unsafe or inappropriate is being stored. If you would like to request that the iPad remain at school, please contact the classroom teacher and make her aware. We can keep it at school, monitor how it is being used, and charge it each night. Thank you for your help with this!
