Who do you say that I am?

Claire Egan

There is a place I can always go when I need stability and love. That place is with Jesus.

God is always there when I need him. It doesn't matter how distant he seems, when I need him most, he's there. However, I don't only seek God when I need him. God carries me through each day, showing me the beauty in life. Jesus watches me as I explore and make mistakes, but he is always gently pulling me toward salvation. Lastly, God is my hope for the future. This vision of God may be blurred, but Jesus' hand has reached from heaven down to earth to show me what life is all about.

Romans 15: 13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 40: 28-31

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
These bible passages are some of my favorite. The first one from Romans speaks of the hope that God provides us. This eternal hope for peace and happiness is what makes Jesus such comfort to people around the world. The second from Isaiah reminds me of the greatness and powerfulness of God. I am reminded that when I trust in him he can "raise me up on eagle's wings" and protect me with his greatness.

I also see Jesus in this image. This is because God is easiest for me to see in nature. This picture is actually taken in San Diego waters! I see God in small everyday things. It is not hard to see God's work in this beautiful image. The way the light flows through the kelp, with it's gentle swaying motion, and the seal staring curiously at the photographer all show me God's beautiful hand at work.
