How can parents help with traffic?
When dropping off your students, or picking them up at the beginning of the day, we ask that you use the idea of STOP, DROP & ROLL.
- Stop the car
- Drop your child off (or pick them up)
- Roll on to allow others to do the same for their child
The goal is to limit the amount of time that any one car is stopped in front of the school so we can maximize the opportunity for others to drop off or pick up students.
If you want your child to wait in the car with you, or you need to leave your car to be able to go into the building, please use the parking spaces along Adams street.
To reduce the number of cars in front of the building, talk with you child about picking them up along Lime street, or on Broad Street where it intersects with Lime. These are often unused areas and can be very convenient.
Looking to purchase Franklin spirit wear?
Why are the conference potlucks just one thing that makes Franklin special?
A staff member that travels between schools commented on how amazing the Franklin conference potlucks are and said that not every PTO does that for their teachers. True fact: another teacher turned down popcorn at the Book Fair, because she just had a delicious taco at the potluck.
Thank you to all the families who prepared or purchased items for the two potlucks held during conferences. Thanks also to the parent volunteers who helped set up and clean up each potluck. The staff really appreciate having a warm, yummy dinner waiting for them when they have a break in conferences.
Did I miss the Scholastic Book Fair?
We hope not, but if you did -- you can still shop online and through the app until November 22. So far the fall Scholastic Book Fair has over $3966 in sales with 55% of those sales or over $2181 coming back to Franklin as Scholastic Dollars to spend on books and supplies for classrooms. Franklin collected almost $58 for All for Books and those funds purchased books for our library. Scholastic will match that amount and donate books to youth and schools in need throughout the country.
Thank you to everyone who supported Franklin with purchases at the Book Fair. Thank you to all the parent and student volunteers who staffed the Book Fair. It wouldn't have happened without all their help.
Franklin families purchased over 15 books for Quentin Shevy and his little sister, as well as filled that jumbo card with get well wishes for Quentin during the Book Fair.
As a way to engage students in the Enchanted Forest theme, students could vote for whether they liked dragons or unicorns more. Just in case, you wondered, 65 students voted for unicorns and 63 voted for dragons. So unicorns it is. One lucky student who voted received a dragon Tech Deck and another received a unicorn album. If you have a student in ACES, you may see more Enchanted Forest fun the week after Thanksgiving.
If you missed the Book Fair and still want to purchase books, you can purchase items online or through the Book Fairs app until November 22. There is an expanded selection of books for all ages and all purchases count toward Book Fair totals with rewards for our school. All purchases will be shipped FREE to Franklin and sent home with students securely wrapped in brown paper. You can get $5 off your Book Fairs app order of $25 or more using the code APP19 at checkout or shop online at this link.
