Volunteers Needed
Changes to Volunteer Clearances
There has been a major change to Volunteer FBI Fingerprints. Please take a moment to read the information below.
PDE has issued a statement that the PDE Volunteer Service Code has been turned off and it is no longer available. Effective immediately, all volunteers must obtain their FBI Fingerprints through the Department of Human Services. The district has updated the HR website and our AppGarden FAQ's accordingly.
This change is not retroactive and the district will still approve people who have submitted their application in AppGarden with their PDE FBI Fingerprints prior to last week. Any new or renewal applications that come in after today, must follow the new protocol.
Cafeteria Accounts
All Cafeteria Accounts have been credited for reimbursable meals that were purchased by students in October 2022. This credit is ONLY for Quakertown and Neidig Elementary due to becoming Community Eligible Provision (CEP) for all students to receive Free meals beginning in October. You can check your student's current balance in SchoolCafe. All Balances will be automatically carried over into the next school year unless other steps are taken as noted below.
Important to Note:
1) Next week when Negative Balance Notifications are sent out for the District – if you receive one, it is accurate and current. Both Quakertown and Neidig students were regular pay in August and September. The negative balance reflects charges that your student purchased during that time period.
2) Refunds for Positive Balances
· If your elementary student has an older sibling in grades 6-12 and you would like to transfer the funds, please email the following information to sreiss@qcsd.org (this process can be completed within 1-2 days of request)
- Student’s Name & Building Name to be transferred FROM
- Student’s Name & Building Name that will RECEIVE the funds
· If there are no older siblings to which funds can be transferred, please email the following information to sreiss@qcsd.org (please allow 2-3 weeks once the request is made to receive the refund check).
- Subject Line of Email – “Refund Requested on Student Cafeteria Account”

Federal Programs Meeting
The Quakertown Community School District has scheduled its annual Federal Programs Parent Lunch and Learn for Wednesday, February 8 at 12 p.m. virtually through Google Meet.
Dr. Erin Oleksa-Carter, QCSD's Office of Teaching and Learning Coordinator of Federal Programs, will present an overview of the district's federal programs and gather input from families about how QCSD uses the funding for these programs at your child's school. The presentation will be recorded and posted for those who cannot attend.
As a QCSD Stakeholder, it's important that we receive your input on how our federal funds are spent. The results will help us to budget for next year's funding. Please complete this survey.
