It's Time
March 13, 2023
This letter serves as a formal request for retirement from the position of elementary principal effective at the end of the 2022-2023 contract school year. It is with great thought, and some reservations that I am finally writing this letter.
My love and enjoyment for both teaching in the classroom and working as an administrative leader, all in the Chardon district, has been extremely satisfying and fulfilling as the career choice made back in my third grade classroom at Hamden Elementary School. Chardon Schools not only provided me with a well-rounded education, but also allowed me to return and give back to my community as a dedicated educator.
Many lives have been touched. Many relationships have been formed, and the educational program has continued to be strong here at Park School. That, being said, it was TEAMWORK that played an integral role in creating a successful learning environment for all. I have been blessed with great people who truly cared about the students and continued to put forth a ton of efforts which created healthy, fun learning activities during my tenure.
Treat Each Other as You Would Like to be Treated is the mantra that I followed throughout my 28 years here at Park, and this statement has been frequently heard throughout our building. I have evolved with yearly changes, been instrumental in educating thousands of students, and have been a friend to many in this community.
I have truly enjoyed this career choice and am thankful for all my mentors who encouraged me to pursue my dreams and contribute to the lives of others. I look forward to having many new experiences and adventures in the future.
Respectfully Submitted,
Rhonda Garrett
