Mason Gazette
April 14, 2017
Dear Mason Families,
Students should have brought home an Autism Awareness pamphlet this week. We would love to have all our Mason families read it with their child(ren) and discuss their understanding of Autism. Students are also being asked to also take an Autism Awareness Pledge after reading the Autism pamphlet. Please take the time to read this important document and discuss the importance of valuing everyone's uniqueness. Your child(ren) needs to return their pledge back to their teacher as soon as possible.
Thanks for your support of ALL Learners and Have a wonderful weekend,
Roy

Green Team Earth Week - April 17th-21st
April 17-21: Walk or Bike to School Week
Students will be encouraged to walk or bike to school, rather than drive from April 17 – April 21st. It's good for the body and for the environment.
Wednesday, April 19: ADOPT and Animal from the Detroit Zoo
Students are encouraged to wear a T-shirt with an animal printed on it and/or bring in a stuffed animal and donate $1.00 to the cause. By participating in the ADOPTS Program, which stands for Animals Depend On People To Survive, students are helping pay for the proper veterinarian care, shelter, and food for the animals that need it.
Friday, April 21: Litter Critter Patrol Pick-up Day/ Green and Blue Spirit Day/ Turn OFF Lights Day
- Green Team members will participate in picking up litter off of school grounds on Friday, April 21st (Earth Day) during lunch recess with Mr. Francis and Mrs. Frakes leading the charge.
- Students will be encouraged to wear green and blue on Earth Day, April 21st, to serve as a visual reminder of celebrating the health of our planet’s water, air, and land.
- Teachers will be reminded to use as little electricity on that day as possible. If you must use lights in the classroom, perhaps you can turn off one bank of lights.
