October’s Counseling Lesson Theme- Safety
Throughout the month of October I will be in classrooms discussing safety and how to make healthy choices with help from the Empower Me! curriculum. Empower Me! teaches children to identify their safety net of trusted adults and encourages them to reach out to one of those adults if anyone is trying to break their safety rules. I encourage you to talk about safety and making healthy choices with your children. Below are some tips to help start the conversation and keep your kids safe. Ask your student about their 5 trusted adults. Discuss their safety rules online and offline Make sure your children are on safe and secure websites or phone apps Discuss what they should do if someone is being unsafe online or in real life. Discuss the difference between a healthy choice and an unhealthy choice
