Online Verification & Residency for the 21-22 school year is now open!
Every year, all Park Hill families are required to visit the Campus Parent portal to verify student demographic, health, and emergency contact information, and submit proof of residency documents for the upcoming school year Please check your mailbox – we recently mailed a letter and “Getting Started” guide so you can jump right in and get this process completed. Highlighting our Pack Point Winners
At Tiffany Ridge, we use PACK Points to celebrate students who are meeting our four core expectations- Be A Problem Solver, Act Resonsibly, Care for Everyone, Keep Safe. When staff see students doing these things, they are reinforced with verbal reinforcement and a "Pack Point".
Classroom teachers also have Pack Point Menus for students to select rewards of their choice in their classroom.
This week our Timberwolves practiced keeping it safe during our Bus Evacuation Drills!
Kids Need Outside Play
With the onset of Daylight savings time and the official first day of Spring it’s especially important to remember that our kids need to spend time participating in outside play. Not only does this give them a break from screen time, but there are also several other benefits of spending time outside. A 2018 article from Sanford Health gives us five reasons to make sure our kids spend time outside.
- Kids become physically healthier. Playing outside improves motor skills, builds core muscles and burns calories. Kids build stronger bones from being outside in the sun and getting natural vitamin D.
- Playing outside helps cognitive and social/emotional development. Unstructured outside play helps kids build positive behavioral and social skills. Playing with friends helps to improve communication, cooperation, and organizational skills. Fresh air also naturally reduces stress levels.
- An optometry and vision science study showed children who play outside regularly have better distance vision than children who are always indoors. Kids learn new things from their senses. Offering outside play increases the sensory input and perceptual abilities.
- Increased attention spans. Children who play outdoors regularly are more curious, self-directed and likely to stay with a task longer. studies of children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) found that children with ADHD who spent significant time outdoors exhibited fewer symptoms.
- More happiness and Immunity. Outdoor light stimulates the pineal gland. This part of the brain is vital to keeping our immune system strong and making us feel happier. Spending time in nature is also associated with improving mood and happiness. A bonus is that children who identify with nature are more likely to become adults who appreciate nature and want to protect the environment.

Tutoring Resources for Park Hill Parents
As our students continue to learn online and in distance learning, there continues to be a need for tutoring support.
We are happy to announce a partnership between the Park Hill School District and the Mid-Continent Public Library. This partnership provides all Park Hill parents and students with live access to online tutoring and homework help through the Mid-Continent Public Library website.
