School Nurse Day May 12

Wednesday, May 12 is National School Nurse Day. This year, more than ever, Nurse Lindsey has worked tirelessly. From recess booboos to contact tracing, she does it all with a smile on her face. We are so lucky to have her at The Creek to keep our children safe!

State Testing

Students in grades 3-5 begin testing this week. The dates are as follows:

May 11, 12, 13: third grade

May 18, 19, 21: fifth grade

May 20, 25, 26, 27: fourth grade

Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep the night before and eats a good breakfast on the mornings of testing.

LOOLA parents, click here for more details for your students.

Ranger Station Donations Needed

At RCE, our students earn Creek Cash for positive behavior, and they use their Creek Cash at a monthly Ranger Station to purchase prizes and coupons. Each year, we have an end of year raffle at the last Ranger Station.

We are looking for donations for this year's raffle. If you can donate any of the following, please send to school with your child or bring into the office labeled for Katie Herndon. Thank you!

  • board games
  • puzzles
  • outdoor toys (balls, chalk, water balloons, slip n' slide, sprinkler ball, etc.)
  • pool toys/floats
  • beach towels
  • play doh, slime, etc.
  • craft materials or kits
  • Lego sets
  • gift cards to kid places (Chick-fil-A, Menchie's, Sonic, etc.)
  • anything else you can think of

Please make sure your child has a mask

Please make sure you are sending your child(ren) to school with a mask. We have run out of our supply from the district at the beginning of the year and are continuing to spend money on disposable masks. It would be very helpful to us if you could ensure your child has a mask each day. It is a good idea to keep extras in the book bag for those days they might forget one! Thank you for your help with this!

Tardy Bell rings at 7:40

The tardy bell now rings at 7:40 am (rather than 7:50) and dismissal will begin at 2:10 pm (rather than 2:00 pm). Doors are locked at 7:40, and you must walk your child into school if tardy.

Transportation Changes & Early Dismissals

Please make sure you communicate ALL transportation changes through a phone call to the front office at 821-4200 before 1:30 pm. Early dismissals will not be made after 1:30 pm. Do not communicate transportation changes via an email or note to the teacher.

Morning and Afternoon Car Line

  • You may use both lanes in the morning, just like we do in the afternoon. Begin the "zipper method" merging at the same point in line that the afternoon zipper merge starts.

  • You may drop off in the front car line OR the bus loop.

  • Always exit from cars along the sidewalk curb. At no time are children to exit from the left side of the vehicle.

  • Please have students ready when they reach the unloading zone. Use your time in the line to find a mask and get it on, gather book bag and lunch box, put on jackets, etc. The quicker our students exit vehicles, the quicker the line will move.

  • At no time should children be dropped off in the parking lot or sent across the crosswalk alone. An adult is required to walk the student ALL THE WAY ACROSS the crosswalk for your students' safety.

  • Parents and drivers should not leave their vehicle to assist with unloading or unbuckling students.

  • In the afternoon, parents and drivers should not leave their vehicle to assist with buckling students. If you need to assist your child with buckling, please move up to the gold cone. If you need to exit the vehicle for this, please pull into a parking space for your safety.

  • Please have car tags displayed in afternoon car line until your child is loaded.
