seniors give back
November 16-24 - FOOD DRIVE
We have collection bins at the athletic entrance and the commons entrance to collect any food items that are donated. Needed items include: Ramen Noodles, Oatmeal packets, Juice boxes, Peanut Butter Crackers, Granola Bars, Applesauce, Macaroni & Cheese Bowls, Canned items such as pasta with meat and soup and jars of peanut butter. A quick stop at Sam's Club or the grocery store could help feed our BVSW families who are in need.
December 7-10 - GIFT CARD DRIVE
Since the holidays can be a source of financial stress for families, gift cards allow for dignity to remain in place so families can shop for themselves. The following gift cards are especially helpful: Walmart, Grocery Stores, Target. Rather than purchasing one gift card in a larger amount, it would be most helpful to break the amount down to smaller increments and more gift cards. For example, rather than one $50 gift card, five $10 gift cards help to make dispensing the cards more flexible. GIFT CARD DONATIONS CAN BE DROPPED OFF BY PARENTS OR STUDENTS IN THE FRONT OFFICE IN AN ENVELOPE MARKED "SENIORS GIVE BACK"
If you are in need of resources or more information, please reach out to Amber Wesley, school social worker, at awesley@bluevalleyk12.org.

Junior Parents/Guardians and students,
All junior students at BVSW will have the opportunity to take the ACT and/or the ACT WorkKeys this coming February. If desired, students can participate in both testing opportunities at no cost.
All juniors are automatically enrolled to participate in the state-funded ACT on February 23, 2021. This test will occur during the school day and will be paper/pencil. This is an opt-out testing event, meaning that unless you tell us otherwise, we will plan on testing your student on this day. VirtualED students will test at their home high schools, and Blue Valley Academy students will test at BVA.
The second testing opportunity is the ACT WorkKeys exam on February 24, 2021. This test also occurs during the school day and will also be paper/pencil. Generally speaking, the ACT WorkKeys is more relevant for students who may be looking for something other than a four-year college experience.
WorkKeys will happen at Hilltop Conference Center, and is an opt-in testing event, meaning that students must sign-up to participate in this test. To learn more about ACT WorkKeys, please click here. To sign up for ACT WorkKeys, please complete the Google Form, found here by Friday, November 20th. For those who enroll in WorkKeys, information will be sent out in the first week of February.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Thanks,

Critical College Board Account Info
Review the demographic information on your College Board ASAP! College Board will use this information for the exam labels.
If the demographic information is incorrect, it can result in the exam not being scored/valid. Students must use their legal names on their account.
Frequent errors:
Registering as Tony, if your legal name is Anthony
Parents accidentally listing their name as the student taking the exam
JohnJacobJingleheimerSchmidt (gotta use that space bar)
1234 Main Street (you know you live on Main Terr, friend)
Students must call College Board ASAP to correct demographic information. This is the only way.
