News from Mrs. Kott
Happy April!
I hope everyone enjoyed some family time over the break. As much as I do love being busy here at Davisburg, it was nice to relax with my family. Sometimes I need to remember to sharpen my saw too!
If you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader, you probably already know that M-Step testing begins soon. Parents will receive a letter providing specific grade level testing dates and details. On the night before tests, please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep. A good breakfast is also important on testing days. If you are interested in more information, follow this link to Michigan’s Assessment System: What it is, What it Means and What it Offers. Please let me know if you have further questions.
Spring is always a busy time! Please be sure you are receiving communication from your child’s teacher, the main office, and the PTC. If you are not sure what is coming up, please check the website, FaceBook, Twitter or call the office. We want to be sure that everyone is aware of what is happening so that they can join in the fun!
As always, thank you for all of the ways you partner with us to support educating your child!
Truly,
Denise Kott

Annual Empty Bowls Event @ KRC on April 15
Please join us as we celebrate the artistic talents of the Holly Area Schools students. Davisburg Elementary has over 150 artists in the district art show.
Also on that night, we will be having our Empty Bowls Fundraiser. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Blessings in a Backpack weekend food program here in Holly. All bowls were created by the students, staff and parents of the district.
Families can help in many ways:
- Purchase a pre-glazed bowl for a minimum donation of $5.00.
- Purchase an unglazed bowl for a minimum donation of $10.00 and visit our family glazing station and add your own artistic spin to your bowl. You will be able to pick up the bowl from Davisburg and take it home at a later date.
Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw
The Leader in Me Section: Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw
Sharpening the saw means to have balance in your life. Habit 7 reminds us that we are more productive when we are in balance: body, brain, heart, and soul. If one area is being ignored or overused, the others will feel the result.
Ways to practice Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw at home: Play a game, put together a puzzle or exercise together as a family, make a commitment to eating healthy, have a time that everyone at home is reading, or visit a new and different place.
