LHS Update - special edition #2b

March 27, 2020

Lathrop Families,

Wow! These last two weeks have been challenging on so many levels. Thank you for your patience as we worked through more details regarding how remote learning will look for Lathrop students. This is new territory for all of us and we are ready to put our plan in place knowing that some details may need to shift as we work through them.

I encourage you to take a look at the many resources the district has provided to help with this closure: Resources for Parents during School Closure

I sent out an overview yesterday. If you didn't get a chance to read it, you can find it here:

LHS Update - Special Edition 2a

Remote Learning

Monday, March 30th begins remote learning. This is going to be a slow roll-out to students with the understanding that not everyone will have access to everything on day 1. In addition, this is not a re-creation of the classroom. It will look different. Students should check their school emails for information.

In addition to receiving information via email, we have been creating a page on our website with access to online content for all teachers. It's found under the academic tab on our webpage. This is a work in progress and will continue to be updated as we move into next week. Not all teachers have content on here yet. Course Materials Website Link.

Paper-based Options

If your student is not able to access online options due to limited internet and/or devices, we will have paper copies for every Lathrop class starting Tuesday afternoon.

To sign up for a time to pick up paper-based materials, complete this form: LHS Material Pickup Form. **Details on how to return paper-based materials will be out next week.

Access to devices and wifi

The district has put together this map of free wi-fi hot spots.

If your student does not have a device, we will be lending Chromebooks. Students and parents will need to come to the school during designated times to receive a Chromebook. A parent will need to sign a checkout equipment form before student can walk away with the Chromebook. To sign up for a time to pick up a Chromebook, complete this form: LHS Material Pickup Form

Social Distancing

If parents/students need to come to the school to pick up materials, please utilize social distancing. Maintain 6 feet between you and others. You will not be allowed in the building. We will meet you outside. Be sure to use the material pick up form or call ahead as we need to keep our numbers at a reasonable level to maintain safety and health for all.

Locker Clean-outs

If you need items from your locker, gym locker, and/or musical instruments, call the front office: 456-7794, ext. 0. We will set up a time for you to come to the school for pick up. We need at least 2 days notice to gather items.

3rd Quarter Grades Finalized

3rd quarter grades were finalized earlier this week and available to view in Powerschool.

We are here to support you and your student. Don't hesitate to reach out to me directly through email or over the phone.
