Last Day of School is June 4th
Cover to Cover
Cover to Cover Reading Program is returning to Conn-West! The Grandview Education Foundation will bring the Cover to Cover Summer Reading Program to Conn-West. Students will be invited to choose free books to take home for summer reading and keep forever! Studies have shown that students who do not read during the summer can fall behind on their reading skills. These losses add up over the elementary school years. By the time a student enters middle school, he or she may be up to two years behind in reading skills! The books your student chooses for their home library can encourage summer reading and help prevent summer learning loss. With their bag of books, students will bring home a reading log to review their favorite book, along with tips for families to encourage summer reading fun. Students who return their completed reading log in August will receive a prize! Let’s make reading an exciting part of your summer FUN!
Those students that attend in person instruction at Conn-West will pick out books during the school day on May 18th or May 20th. The students that attend virtual instruction that come into the building for MAP testing will select their books when they are in the building for testing. For our students that receive virtual instruction in K-2nd grade or those not coming into the building for testing may sign up here for a time to come into the building to select books. If your child came in the building for MAP testing, they received their books for Cover to Cover and you do not need to sign up for a time.
Device Return
In person students will return their devices on May 27th and May 28th while they are at school. Virtual families, please sign up for a time to drive through to drop off all devices, hotspots, chargers, and library books. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4EA8A823A2F85-device1
Only virtual students need to sign up for a time. If you have questions, please call our office at 816-316-5225.
Will you be attending a Grandview School Next Year?
Time to Begin Preparing for the 21-22 School Year
It is time to prepare for ONLINE REGISTRATION for the 2021 – 2022 school year! Online Registration will begin district-wide on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. If you will be living within the Grandview C-4 School District attendance boundaries on August 23, 2021 (first day of school) and your student will be attending one of the District schools (based on your address), it is necessary to make sure the school district has the most up-to-date contact information for you. PARENT PORTAL is a key part of the online registration process. It is expected that all families complete their registration and enrollment process via the Parent Portal and through email communication. In order for this process to flow smoothly, please ensure your child’s school has the best email address to contact you.
