Fleming Flyer-Off Campus Edition
May 15, 2020
A Note from Ms. Aldrich
Now that the Governor has relaxed restrictions a little bit, what are you doing to get outside? We were finally able to do some trail rides at Saxon Hill on our Mtn. Bikes. Also, we've been out for some walks around town! I've seen many students out enjoying the weather with their families. If you see me when you're out, feel free to say hi, or give me a wave! I love seeing you all!
Also, just a reminder that the playground at Fleming is still closed. I've seen people using the field when I have been in the building, hitting golf balls and running laps. There was also a small bike left on the playground that I've noticed over the past week. I would hate for it to get stolen, so if it belongs to you or a family member, please come and grab it.
If you would like to share photos with me on how you are enjoying the weather, please send them my way, and I will feature them in the next Fleming Flyer!
THANK YOU to all of you who reached out to our amazing staff for Teacher Appreciation Week. I know your words really meant a lot to them.
Join us Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 for our LAST PTO meeting of the year. The agenda and Zoom link are below.
We would like to take a minute to thank everyone who helped out with events and fundraisers this year. We could not have done it without all your help and support. Wishing you all a safe and healthy rest of the school year and summer!

Hello Fleming Families!
Parents - this one is for you. My friends on the Fleming staff want to extend their deep appreciation for your kindness during Staff Appreciation Week - your cards, posts, lawn signs and chalk drawings from your children certainly brightened our week!
We want you to know how much we appreciate YOU! Distance Learning is not an easy thing to transition to, but you have all risen to the challenge. You may not think you have, but trust me, you are doing a great job.
Thank you for guiding your kids through their work.
Thank you for keeping a watchful eye while they are on their Zooms and Google Meets.
Thank you for ensuring that they balance work and outside time - that is so important.
Most of all, thank you for being there for our students when we have to be so far away.
It means the world to us that you support their learning. You are truly Fleming Falcons demonstrating our fundamentals: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
The distance learning lessons and activities assigned to students makes it necessary for each student to have technology resources and internet access. Please contact principal Ryan if your student does not have a computer or have a way to access learning online via the internet. We are also concerned for families and students with food insecurity challenges. Hunger is a basic need that must be met before the engagement of learning. How might we help?
Activities for Kids
Different activities to do outside!
Here are some articles with different activities to do outside while still being safe during this time. Our kiddos from the environmental club, might like the ideas about recycling!

It will be especially helpful to know of any student who will not be attending Fleming or transitioning to middle school at ADL in August. Thank you!

Buildings and Grounds Covid-19 Safety considerations have caused us to make our school playground equipment off limits. The playground is taped off and closed for use until access is reestablished following pandemic safety protocols.
