January Newsletter
K-Beach Elementary School
A Message from Mrs. Van Slyke
Like many of you, I am looking forward to ushering in a new year with the hope that 2021 will bring a brighter outlook. One of the things that I am most excited about is welcoming our in-person learners back to the building this month! While it has been wonderful to have a limited number of students here, having more students to fill our hallways and classrooms will bring our building back to life.
We will resume in-person learning for grades 1-6 on Monday, January 11th! We will continue to practice safety protocols in our building to ensure that our school is as safe as possible for staff and students. We are happy to announce that our building has received an enhanced air filtration system which is already up and running! As in-person learning resumes, one of the most noticeable changes to safety protocol is that masks are now required at all times other than when eating or drinking. Please see the images below for the most effective face masks as well as one that is not acceptable at school.
As we enter a new year, we often create resolutions as this is a natural time to set goals. At K-Beach Elementary, we will remain committed to caring for your child and meeting each child's individual needs. We believe that K-Beach is a fantastic learning environment because of our school community and our commitment to education. I am looking forward to another successful semester of learning at K-Beach!

Winter Gear
Winter weather is upon us! Along with winter weather, comes frigid temperatures. Please be sure to send your child to school with the proper winter gear. Remember that students go outside when the temperature is above -10°. When weather conditions are icy, students will be having recess on the sanded blacktop as an extra safety precaution.
